Nature Walk: Southwest Nature Preserve

Join our expert naturalists this Saturday for a guided educational tour through the Southwest Nature Preserve — one of Arlington’s hidden gems. This 58-acre preserve features diverse habitats including oak savannah, wetlands, and prairie grassland.

What to Expect

The walk covers approximately 2 miles of moderate terrain over 2 hours. Our naturalists will help you identify native plants, birds, and insects along the trail. Bring binoculars if you have them — the preserve is home to over 150 bird species.

  • Location: Southwest Nature Preserve, 3000 S. Bowman Springs Rd.
  • Cost: Free for ACC members, $5 suggested donation for non-members
  • What to bring: Water, sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes
